[Click-Au Naturel] Mango Season

Today afternoon, I visited the Crawford Market (again !).

This was my sixth visit since we have been living in Mumbai four months ago. Although the market is pretty far from our apartment, about 1-1.5hours by car, I must admit that I have become addicted visiting this stress relieving place. It's hard to express my happiness everytime I enter the wonderful old majestic British style building. A very beautiful combination I admire, that the traditional market is located inside an almost 1.5 centuries old colonial building. This time, my excitement is getting greater; it's the mango season !

I feel we are so blessed that as I'm writing this blog story, the city of Mumbay is currently being flooded by millions of mango. Actually the mango season had started already since February, but I learn the economics principles; the supply was yet small & the demand was much greater. As a result, the mango has been pretty pricey & we decided to wait. And now, in May, as the supply is flooding the city with millions of mango & the price has been dropping down like a rock, I have made a promise to myself to spoil my family with mango. As we speak, there is a dozen of Alphonso Mango being chilled in the refrig waiting to be executed. I don't think it'll be there after 2-3 days. Hhhmmm, I have an excuse to visit the Crawford Market again.

This is my second entry to the Click Monthly Event which the theme is "Au Naturel" (whatever language it is) . Taking picture of a specific food as the subject is always interesting for me. The picture of a crate of mango was taken this afternoon at Crawford Market.

There is no new recipe this time, sorry. God has created mango to be eaten as fresh as it is, no need to be treated anymore.
